Republican Grants Clemency For Business Owners
(UnitedVoice.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has handled the COVID-19 pandemic in his state very well. The state has been operating pretty freely and its economy didn’t tank like some of the Democratic states with strict lockdown restrictions. Florida’s death rate is lower than New York and California. Now, the governor is, once again, standing up for what’s right.
On May 12, DeSantis announced that he was granting clemency to a business owner who was arrested for not enforcing a mask mandate. The governor called the way Mike Carnevale was treated “total overreach.” Not only is he showing this couple mercy, he said that he’ll issue pardons for “any Floridian that may have outstanding infractions for things like masks and social distancing.”

The fact that business owners faced criminal charges for not forcing people to hand over their freedoms is outrageous. They’re lucky that DeSantis has their backs.
