U.S. Sanctions Top Chinese Official

(TheFreedomFlag.com)-The Trump administration took action against communist China’s “gross human rights violations” on Thursday, sanctioning a Chinese official for discrimination against Chinese practitioners of Falun Gong.

Members of the modern religious movement in China are often heavily discriminated against in China. Since 1990, the Chinese Communist Party has oppressed and imprisoned practitioners of the religion.

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that police chief Huang Yuanxiong from the Wucun police station in Xiamen, China, would be banned from entering the United States. The fresh sanction will also apply to his wife.

“Huang is associated with particularly severe violations of religious freedom of Falun Gong practitioners, namely his involvement in the detention and interrogation of Falun Gong practitioners for practicing their beliefs,” Pompeo explained in a statement.

The announcement was made on International Human Rights Day and is the first-ever instance of the United States sanctioning an individual CCP official for persecuting followers of the Falun Gong movement.

For all the talk from the Democrats about religious freedom, it only ever seems to be Republicans willing to stand up for the Falun Gong practitioners in China. Weird, right?

Huang was one of 17 foreign officials that the State Department sanctioned on December 10. These foreign officials were all sanctioned under the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act 2020, which allows for the banning of officials that the secretary of state can prove have been “involved in a gross violation of human rights or significant corruption.”

If Joe Biden becomes president in January, how often do you think he’ll use this rule against China?

The Falun Gong movement is relatively unknown in the United States, but in recent years the followers of the religious movement have been victims of oppression in communist China. Many Republicans have spoken up about the millions of followers thrown into labor camps and prisons. There are more than 4,000 documented deaths of Falun Gong followers in these camps in China, with experts suggesting communist Chinese officials have covered up many more.

The plight of the Falun Gong movement is subject to similar restrictions as conservatives in the United States, too, with big tech and telecommunications companies censoring their materials in compliance with communist China.

This month, it was revealed how Vodafone, the biggest mobile operator in Europe, censored Falun Gong websites in the United Kingdom.

Just why exactly is it just the Republicans and the Trump administration willing to stand up to China?
