(TheFreedomFlag)- President Donald Trump traveled to Texas on Tuesday to tout the success of his border wall in protecting America from illegal immigration.
During a speech, the president also took time to condemn last week’s attacks on the U.S. Capitol building and predicting that the threat of the 25th Amendment being used against him would eventually “haunt” Democratic President-elect Joe Biden.
To the crowd gathered in Alamo, Texas, Trump said:
“It’s time for peace and calm. Respect for law enforcement … is the foundation of the MAGA agenda.”
He didn’t stop there, though. He called the people who broke into the Capitol building and participated in the violent and aggressive attacks “a mob.” He continued:
“Millions of our citizens watched on Wednesday as a mob stormed the Capitol and trashed the halls of government. As I have consistently said throughout my administration, we believe in respecting America’s history and traditions, not tearing them down. We believe in the rule of law, not in violence or rioting.”
The president is right here, too. No one can call him a hypocrite for these comments. The president has consistently railed against protesters who have turned to violence and looting. He repeated that message over and over again this summer as peaceful protests from the Black Lives Matter movement turned violent.
While he was departing from the White House Tuesday morning on the way to Texas, Trump said the House of Representatives’ push to impeach him for a second time “is causing tremendous anger” and “causing tremendous danger to our country.”
He repeated comments similar to those during his speech in Texas. He predicted that while Democrats are pressing for him to be removed from office using the 25th Amendment now, it’s President-elect Joe Biden who will eventually be removed from the White House.
Trump also took the time to slam big tech companies for cracking down on free speech in the country. He was referring to the consistent silencing of conservative voices by Twitter, Facebook, Google and Amazon.
The president said:
“Free speech is under assault like never before. The 25th Amendment is of zero risk to me, but will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration. As the expression goes, be careful what you wish for.
“The impeachment hoax is a continuation of the greatest and most vicious witch hunt in the history of our country, and is causing tremendous anger and division and pain — far greater than most people will ever understand, which is very dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time.”
Last week, Twitter permanently banned the president from using the social media platform. Facebook decided to temporarily ban him from using that platform and Instagram, which they own, through at least January 20 — which is Biden’s inauguration day. The company said they might end up banning him permanently, though.
Google and Amazon have taken similar approaches to silencing the opinions of conservatives online.
