Maxine Waters Advocates REMOVING Trump from Office with 25th Amendment

( Rep. Maxine Waters, the California Democrat who was caught on tape encouraging supporters to harass Republican legislators and politicians in the street, recently said that President Donald Trump should be forcefully removed from office. During an interview on MSNBC, Waters suggested using the 25th Amendment to kick Trump out of the White House before the November presidential election, in what appears to be an escalation of anti-democracy rhetoric within her party.

Under Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, it is possible to remove the president from office if he is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”

This would be applicable to a president that proved to be mentally incapable of doing the job he was required to do. It’s exactly the kind of thing you’d expect to be used in the case of Joe Biden winning the presidency, given his clear cognitive decline. However, Waters seems to think the amendment can be used willy nilly against a president she just…doesn’t like.

Her comments came during a discussion about President Trump’s comments relating to the Democrats’ VP pick Kamala Harris.

“The president of the United States of America is unbelievably divisive,” she claimed. “The president lies. He’s pitting people against each other, going back to the old birther argument that they attempted to use against Obama.”

Waters went on to say that Trump is the “most deplorable human being” that she has ever encountered, that he is “undermining our democracy” and that she “cannot take any more.” They’re all incredibly vague statements, but that’s why she’s using them. At this point, after listing vague talking points about the president, she went on to suggest that they all meant the 25th Amendment would apply to him.

“As a matter of fact, when you couple that with what he’s doing, undermining our democracy, tearing up our post office, I believe that it is time for Section 4 of Amendment 25 to be put in place and his cabinet should send to Nancy Pelosi, the speaker, as identified in the Constitution, that this man should be removed from office.”

Can you imagine the precedent the Democrats would set if they started removing presidents based on vague talking points?
