(TheFreedomFlag.com)- Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential election. Let’s just get that out of the way. The failed Democratic presidential candidate won fewer electoral college votes, which means she didn’t win the presidency. Despite this, Clinton has long suggested that the fact she won more single votes nationally means she is the real winner – and she repeated this claim during her speech at the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
“For four years people have told me, ‘I didn’t realize how dangerous he was. I wish I could do it all over.’ Or worse, ‘I should’ve voted,’” Clinton claimed in her speech.
Who actually believes there is a significant number of people in American who voted for Trump but now support Clinton? Really?
“This can’t be another woulda’ coulda’ shoulda’ election,” Clinton added.
Then, the failed presidential candidate and the former first lady started suggesting that she really won the election last time around and that Joe Biden should be aware that he could win this election and yet still lose.
“Don’t forget Joe and Kamala can win by 3 million votes and still lose – take it from me,” she said, with her signature cackle.
The claim, however, is false. Hillary Clinton did not win anything in 2016. She secured around three million more votes than Donald Trump did on a national basis, and she did that by winning huge support from ultra-liberal cities and states. We’re talking California and New York here. But that does not mean she won, it actually means she lost. She did not achieve sufficient electoral college votes, which is what decides the presidency…and for good reason.
The electoral college was designed to ensure that bigger states and cities do not have an unfair advantage over smaller states with more rural populations. Donald Trump’s election is a perfect example of why the electoral college was established – it ensured the nation was represented fairly and didn’t let the ultra-liberal cities dictate the future of the rest of the country who doesn’t agree with their radical ideas.
Clinton then went on to call the president a thief. Seriously.
“So we need numbers overwhelmingly, so Trump can’t sneak or steal his way to victory,” she claimed.
I mean, none of this makes much sense, but it does show that Clinton still doesn’t seem to understand the electoral college. Rather than telling people to come out in greater numbers, which doesn’t matter if those people are in states that the Democrats are already expected to win, you’d think she’d be smart enough to tell people in the swing states to come out and vote instead. But that’s Clinton for you. Not so smart.
