(TheFreedomFlag.Com)- During a segment on Fox News, Senator Lindsey Graham blasted China for reopening the wet markets where the coronavirus was expected to have first appeared. “Stop eating bats!” the Republican senator told the Chinese people.
COVID-19, the official name for the virus that originated in Wuhan, is believed to have jumped to humans after first appearing in bats. Scientists believe that the virus spread as a result of the dirty conditions at “wet markets” where Chinese people sell live, wild animals to be used in food.
While the virus was sweeping through Wuhan earlier this year the markets were closed, but reports suggest that the markets are now beginning to reopen and people are once again selling live, wild bats.
“These wet markets in China, people eat bats and they eat monkeys, and bats and monkeys – at least bats for sure – carry this kind of virus,” Graham said.

“This is where Ebola came from, this is where SARS came from, and this lab may be 300 yards away from the wet market in China where they test bats for coronavirus infection, but people literally eating bats 300 yards down the road.”
Even though bats are known to carry coronavirus, and that several diseases are already understood to have originated in these dirty Chinese markets, CNN published an article in March claiming “Bats are not to blame for coronavirus. Humans are.”
“Bats carry this stuff,” Graham said on Fox, referring to the coronavirus. “And they literally eat bats. Stop eating bats!”
Graham also discussed Dr. Anthony Fauci, the medical expert and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who sits on the White House Coronavirus Task Force. The Republican senator said Dr. Fauci believes the world should “ostracize every country that allows exotic animals like monkeys and bats to be intermingled with the food supply and near humans.”
According to the Daily Mail, the wet markets in China “have gone back to operating in exactly the same way as they did before coronavirus despite the outbreak’s links to bats.”
Shouldn’t the United States be putting major pressure on any country that risks the global population and economies in such a huge way?
