(TheFreedomFlag.com)- Pro-life organizations are enraged at Kamala Harris being chosen as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s running mate.
Leaders of these groups said this week that Harris is an “ardent” supporter of abortion, and that she and Biden together will be extreme.
David Daleiden is one person who had harsh words about Harris, and he has first-hand experience to go on. Daleiden, the head of the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life investigative group of journalists, took undercover video of Planned Parenthood in California while Harris was the attorney general there.
He was reporting on Planned Parenthood’s illegal selling of body parts that came from aborted babies. Instead of investigating Planned Parenthood, though, Harris announced she would investigate the journalists from CMP.
On Tuesday, following the announcement of Harris as Biden’s running mate, Daleiden tweeted:
“Lots of people are asking me what I think of the news tonight — @KamalaHarris is the greatest threat to First Amendment civil rights our country has ever seen. I know because she had my home raided for speaking the truth about her political patrons at Planned Parenthood.”
During her run for Senate in 2016, Harris accepted thousands of dollars in donations from Planned Parenthood. She also had a petition posted to her campaign website that asked voters to join her in “defending Planned Parenthood.”
This entire situation has enraged the president of the Susan B. Anthony List Marjorie Dannenfelser. The pro-life group head said Harris has an air of abortion “extremism.” In a statement, Dannenfelser said:
“Kamala Harris is an extremist who supports abortion on demand through birth, paid for by taxpayers, and even infanticide. It is no surprise Joe Biden chose such an extremist as his running mate.”
The president of March for Life, Jeanne Mancini, called the ticket of Biden-Harris “perhaps the most pro-abortion in history.”
During a 2019 debate in the Democratic primaries, Harris — who was running for president at the time — attacked her now-boss for his flip-flop stance on abortion rights. Specifically, she criticized Biden for only saying he no longer supports the Hyde Amendment once he decided to run for president.
The amendment bars taxpayer dollars from paying for abortions. During the debate, Harris said to Biden:
“On the Hyde Amendment, vice president, where you made a decision for years to withhold resources to poor women to have access to reproductive health care, including women who were the victims of rape and incest, do you now say that you have evolved and you regret that?”
At the following debate, Harris criticized states that have tried to pass reform on abortion. She said “women will die” as a result of the limitations being placed upon the right to have an abortion.
Harris has put forth proposals that would require states to get approval from the Department of Justice if they want to pass laws that would restrict abortion access. Such a bill would be very similar to the Voting Rights Act.
As for Biden, he has made a promise that if he were elected, he would seek to codify the Roe v. Wade decision, making abortion rights a federal law.
