(TheFreedomFlag.com)- If you thought that Dr. Anthony Fauci couldn’t get any less popular, then you might have been wrong. The most visible face of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and the head of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases just moved the goalposts yet again and said that he can’t say when people will be able to enjoy indoor weddings again.
During an interview on NBC’S Meet the Press, Fauci was asked by Chuck Todd when people will be permitted to host weddings indoors again.
“You know, that’s a good question. And I think that’s going to be within a reasonable period of time. You notice…,” he started, before Todd interrupted and asked if it might happen this year.
“What time of the year? You know, I can’t give you that exact date because it’s going to absolutely depend, and this gets back to our conversation a minute or two ago, it’s going to depend on the level of infection in community. If we plateau and stay at 60,000 a day and go up with a peak, I mean, you can make no prediction,” Fauci responded.
He then said that if the virus infection rates continue going down and reach a “very, very low level” when a good proportion of people are vaccinated, then he thinks that “you’re going to see weddings in the normal way.”
“But there’s always the caveat that it’s not going to happen if all of a sudden you have a surge,” he said.
It did not go down well.
Former Fox News anchor and conservative journalist Megyn Kelly slammed Fauci for the comments, saying that he doesn’t control the American public.
“Not sure who misled you on this, sir, but you don’t control us,” she said.

Fauci received a pretty massive backlash online, including from people who have already had their wedding ceremonies…and still never met somebody who had COVID.
Got married last year and not a single person got COVID.
People shouldn’t be seeking the blessing of public officials to get married — this is absurd. https://t.co/8ECPNheXV6

President Joe Biden made the same mistake recently of suggesting that the public might be able to celebrate Independence Day this year, so long as they continue following his social distancing and mask rules.
BIDEN: “If we do our part… by July 4, there’s a good chance you, your families, and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout or a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day… Small groups will be able to get together” pic.twitter.com/j6PQwbN4qg

And even then, President Biden told people they can only have small gatherings.
