(TheFreedomFlag.com)- While the country only ever sees the smiling side of TV show host Ellen DeGeneres, ex-employees of The Ellen DeGeneres Show claim that the talk show host fosters a toxic work culture. It’s not the first time that DeGeneres has been accused of being a different person behind the scenes, but the latest revelations from former employees are particularly telling.
The former employees, speaking to BuzzFeed News, claimed that they were mistreated while working on the show and some people were even fired for taking bereavement days or medical leave.
“That ‘be kind’ bullshit only happens when the cameras are on,” one ex-employee said. “It’s all for show.”
The ex-employee also said, “I know they give money to people and help them out, but it’s for show.”
BuzzFeed News, which is not exactly known for being critical of famous folk who share their far-left view of the world, dug deep into the claims made by the employees. The outlet said that they spoke to a current employee at the show, as well as ten former employees. Every person involved asked to remain anonymous for the interview, over fears of retribution from the show.
Reporter Krystie Lee Yandoli posted her piece on Twitter on July 17, and it quickly went viral as people theorized on why DeGeneres is so different when the cameras are switched off.

Some employees said that they were fired for taking time off to attend family funerals. One even claimed she was tired of constant comments about her race, which made her walk off the job. The report claims that a woman was told by one of the main writers of the show that they “only know the names of the white people” who work at the show, and that other coworkers just laughed off the comment rather than speaking up about it.
Employees are also reportedly warned not to speak to DeGeneres if they see her in the office.
“She really needs to take more responsibility,” one employee said about the show host.
The reports are shocking because the executive producers of the show, Andy Lassner, Mary Connely, and Ed Glavin, all claim to have “strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment.”
Well, if these employees are to be believed, then they have failed.
