(TheFreedomFlag.com)- Elon Musk, the eccentric billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is reportedly planning on moving to Texas. The news comes after Musk became the second richest person in the world, with the stock prices for his electric car company skyrocketing in recent weeks.
Speaking to CNBC, several Musk’s personal friends said that he plans to move permanently to Texas to be closer to SpaceX operations, as well as his “Boring Company” operation that specializes in drilling holes under the ground to create new underground road systems.
The news probably won’t come as much of a surprise to anybody familiar with Musk’s criticism of California and its state government’s approach to COVID-19. As the state implemented hugely restrictive lockdowns to try and curb the spread of the virus, Musk described the state government’s willingness to stop people from living their lives as “fascist.”
In March, Alameda County said that Tesla was not considered an “essential” business, meaning they were told to shut down during their initial lockdown measures. Musk hit back, however, refusing to close it down and asserting itself as a part of the national “critical infrastructure.” Since then, Musk’s criticism of the handling of the virus made him sound like more of a Republican than anything, making Texas a natural fit.
In May, when Musk learned that Alameda County thought his car factories should stay shut down until June, he announced that the decision was the “final straw” and that he would be moving the Tesla HQ to either Texas or Nevada.
“Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately,” he said.
Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.

“If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependent [sic] on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA,” he reminded the state.
In July, Texas Governor Greg Abbott told the press that Musk had obtained a Texas driver’s license and was preparing to move to the state.
Is Musk a secret Republican?
