(TheFreedomFlag.com)- Elon Musk, the eccentric billionaire responsible for incredible technological innovations at Tesla and SpaceX, admitted that he prayed during the recent historic Dragon Capsule splash landing. The CEO and chief engineer at SpaceX, the privately-run American space program, admitted that he prayed when the Dragon Capsule splash landed into the Gulf of Mexico.
The historic splash landed saw NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken arrive home safely after spending months in space. It was the first time an American crew and spacecraft splash landed in 45 years.
In a speech after the landing, Musk said, “You know, I’m not very religious but I prayed for this one.”
Musk also said that the Dragon Capsule had entered humanity into a “new era in spaceflight” and a “new era in space exploration.”
“We’re going to go to the moon, we’re going to have a base on the moon, we’re going to send people to Mars and make life multi-planetary,” he said.
That’s exactly the kind of optimism we’ve come to expect from Musk!
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has been very open about his intention to send people to Mars. The SpaceX program has long promised to send humans to the red planet. During a meeting with NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine, the pair discussed the future of space exploration and cooperation between the two space programs.
“We are entering a new era of human spaceflight, where NASA is no longer the purchaser, owner and operator of all the hardware. We are going to be a customer,” Bridenstine said. “One customer of many customers, in a very robust commercial marketplace for human spaceflight to low-Earth orbit.”

Bridenstine added that he wants there to be numerous providers competing with one another on “cost, innovation, and safety” to increase access to space “in a way that’s never been seen before.”
