(TheFreedomFlag)- Former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid praised “Republican” Senator for Utah, Mitt Romney, in a podcast recently.
In the most divided Congress in modern history, with deep rifts between the far-left Democrats and the Republican Party, even that first sentence of this article should tell you all you need to know about Senator Romney.
Speaking to the Salt Lake Tribune, Reid recalled an argument between the two during the 2012 presidential campaign in which Reid accused Romney of not paying his takes. Reid said that the pair had met and made up over the meeting after Romney lost in the presidential election.
“I asked my friend of many, many years, Governor Leavitt of Utah who had been head of Health and Human Services, to arrange a meeting with me and Mitt Romney after the election,” Reid also said in the “Mormon Land” podcast recently.
“And we had a meeting at his home in Salt Lake where Mitt and I talked about probably how we had done things wrong about each other and our wives were here and we had a very nice meeting – kind of a make-up session.”
Reid then said that he admires Mitt Romney and thinks he is a “Very very fine human being.”
Isn’t it funny how Democrats always want unity after telling lies about Republicans? Unity after claiming Romney doesn’t pay his taxes…unity after calling millions of Trump supporters Nazis for four years…
Reid’s comments about Romney were nasty. He accused Romney of committing a very serious crime, claiming that the “word’s out that he hasn’t paid any taxes for 10 years.”
“Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t,” Reid said in 2012. Romney soon responded by releasing his tax returns showing that he paid some $1.9 million in taxes back in 2011.
It was such an egregious lie that Politifact called it a “pants on fire” lie, saying that Reid “made an extreme claim with nothing solid to back it up.” Despite this, Reid continued to insist he was telling the truth and cited an anonymous “extremely credible source.”
Must have been one of those anonymous sources CNN loves so much…
With Romney so fond of Democrats and vice versa, does the Senator for Utah have any chance of re-election?
