(TheFreedomFlag.Com)- It will come as no surprise to millions of hard-working Americans that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want the president to succeed in reopening the U.S. economy by the end of April. According to a Friday report from Politico, Pelosi suggested that she is considering forcing the House of Representatives to remain closed beyond April 20th.
Members of Congress are expected to return on April 20th to continue discussing legislative measures to help the American people, but Nancy Pelosi wants politicians to enjoy a longer holiday isolating at home in their mansions.
“Nobody can really tell you that and I would never venture a guess. I don’t think we should do it sooner than we should,” she said about reopening the House. “This has taken an acceleration from when we started this…Little did we know at this point, we’d be further confined.”
Pelosi even warned the president to keep the country under lockdown, despite the president coming up with novel ways to get the economy moving without endangering more lives.
What does Pelosi have against protecting American jobs?
Should the veteran Democrat politician get her way, the fourth phase of coronavirus relief legislation that is currently being negotiated by members of Congress would be delayed by weeks more, meaning American workers go longer without paychecks, unable to feed their families and pay the bills. The fourth stage of coronavirus relief would include a further trillion dollars specifically focused on infrastructure and keeping the economy afloat.
According to Politico, Pelosi signaled that the House is unlikely to return to session at any point in April and that she may insist it stayed closed throughout May.
Pelosi, who criticized the president for not taking action sooner (even though he closed the borders to China way before the World Health Organization was shown to have delayed giving important advice on closing borders), told Politico that the president risked “prematurely” reopening markets.
While Pelosi refuses to look at innovative ways to get people back to work, in a way that protects lives, the president is preparing a second coronavirus task force that is tasked specifically with getting the economy moving again. The economic recovery task force will include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow, and several other officials and economic experts.
