(TheFreedomFlag.com)- Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is facing increasing calls to cancel his expected debate appearances in the run-up to the November presidential election. It comes as people express growing concern about Biden’s cognitive ability, after several instances of the former vice president forgetting where he is, getting confused during interviews, and even getting angry at reporters.
Joe Lockhart, the former press secretary for President Bill Clinton, has publicly suggested that Joe Biden should refrain from debating President Donald Trump. It sounds like a crazy idea, but it has been floated by others before – including in an op-ed in The New York Times.
In a CNN.com op-ed, Lockhart said that President Trump has “made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post,” and that this is a reason why Biden shouldn’t debate the president.
“Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump,” Lockhart writes.
“It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth,” he claimed. “Biden will undoubtedly take heat from Republicans and the media for skipping the debates. But it’s worth the risk as trying to debate someone incapable of telling the truth is an impossible contest to win.”
Maybe it’s impossible because President Trump actually tells the truth, and the Democrats consistently refuse to face reality on issues that are difficult to talk about when their support base is made up of far-left extremists?
Joe Biden’s inability to host press conferences without seeing questions first, without having pre-prepared statements on teleprompters, and without having notes in front of him, suggests that it’s unlikely he will be able to take on Donald Trump three times before the November election. His performance during the primary races was particularly bad, but candidates seemed to give him a pass when he claimed that hundreds of millions of people have died as a result of gun violence in America.
The Biden Campaign, however, has already agreed to participate in three debates. Trump’s campaign pushed for as many as six, but the Biden campaign chickened out of doing anything other than the bare minimum.
What do you think…will the Biden campaign find an excuse for Biden to ditch the debates? Or will they consider the backlash from the public too substantial to risk?
